' The Thistle ' Scotland's National Flower

The Scottish Thistle is probably the best known and most recognisable symbol of Scotland.

The Thistle is Scotland's and is the oldest recorded 'National Flower'.

Dating back to the 13th century when Vikings tried to creep up on Scottish Clansmen barefooted. Unfortunately for them they walked over a bed of thistles. This caused them to cry out alerting the Scots army. A fight ensued which the Scots subsequently won!

The rest as they say is history...

The humble thistle has been used to inspire many Scottish jewellery designs. From traditional silver thistle brooches to thistle pendants, modern thistle ring designs and many more thistle pieces of jewellery.
